SUMMER SHUTDOWN PERIOD: The UAW-GM National
Agreement provides that
Local Management must notify the Shop Committee during February
of each year if a
Summer Shutdown is to occur and which two weeks it will be. As
of Friday, March 5,
2010, Management stated they didnt know!
We wrote Group Policy Grievance #C-1145627 on Wednesday, March 3,
2010 and charged
Management with a violation of Paragraphs (202) (a), (b), and (c)
of the 2009 Modifications as amended! Shutdown Language
On Monday, March 8, 2010, Management served us with information
citing there would be NO summer shutdown weeks this year,
therefore, employees will NOT be required to reserve any
of their vacation entitlement.
On Friday, February 26, 2010, we reached an agreement with
Management to extend the Vacation Application Period two weeks,
til Friday March 12, 2010. Therefore, dont forget to fill
out your request before this Friday March 12, 2010.
Management is still required to notify employees if their
request has been honored no later than Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
Dont forget to get a signed copy of your approved Vacation
Time Off.
THE CATHY CLEGG AND STEVE BARRY VISIT:
Previously scheduled for Thursday, March 11, 2010, has been
rescheduled for Monday, March 22, 2010.
THE CATHY CLEGG - DIANA TREMBLEY VISIT:
Is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, 2010.
ESCALATOR INFORMATION: Five days after
the main lobby up escalator was repaired, the annual State of
Ohio Safety
Inspection revealed structural cracks in 32 flights of the
escalator steps. Repairs will be expedited, but are expected to
take several weeks. The main lobby down escalator is also down
for annual inspection and as soon as needed repairs are completed
they will be reinspected and restarted!
DONT FORGET: To make your
applications for 63-A & B and shift preference moves you may
desire and get a copy of your request.
SINCE THERE WILL BE NO TWO WEEK SHUTDOWN:
There is, therefore, no need to make an application to work!
96 MOVES: On Monday, March 22, 2010, the last eight Technicians
will be transferred to Parma and this will satisfy the Paragraph
96 Technician moves to Parma.
ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBERS: Make sure both
the Union Hall and Management have your proper address and phone
numbers on file so contact can be made if needed.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME: Remember to move
your clocks ahead one (1) hour at 2:00 a.m. (E.S.T.), Sunday
March 14, 2010.
