June 13, 2008:

TRANSFER TO OTHER G.M. PLANTS - Management has announced they are allowing as many Production people to go to other G.M. Plants as want to go. So far, this is not available to Skilled Trades employees.

SHUTDOWN WORK - Management has plans to work about 650 people the second week of the summer shutdown period, July 7th through July 11th, 2008.

CATHY CLEGG - Manufacturing Manager will visit Parma on July 24, 2008.

GARY COWGER GM - Group Vice President Global Manufacturing and Labor will visit Parma MFD on August 11, 2008.

ON MONDAY, JUNE 16, 2008 - The remaining Production employees will be returned to work as a result of 21 Parma employees transferring to other G.M. Plants.

TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES - The first group of Temps have started their training on Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Two more groups will be trained during the weeks of June 16 and June 23 for a total of about 75 Temps.

LABORER YARD & MAINTENANCE - Per the addendum to the Local Agreement, all Laborer Yard and Maintenance employees may file a contractual request for transfer to another occupational group and will however be held in the current job assignment until the exit from Laborer Yard and Maintenance activities is realized. At that time, they will be physically transferred into their desired occupational group which they requested and will be affected by the Paragraph 71 Local Agreement rules on overtime.

LORDSTOWN LOCAL 1112 ASSEMBLY - Had 326 employees accept the 2008 S.A.P. and as a result of increased orders of Cobalt and Pontiac G-5 have stated they will put on a third shift, which will need an added 650 employees for a total of 976 new employees needed for this core work. The National Agreement allows flow per the 2008 S.A.P., so Parma employees wanting to transfer may make their request known to the Personnel Department.
