Your entire Executive Board and Shop Committee would like to welcome all of you back from your summer shutdown. Hopefully, everyone had an enjoyable time off for those that did not work.

Union Picnic: The 2008 Union Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Cedar Point Park in Sandusky, Ohio. Ticket prices will be as follows:
Adult general admission: $20.00
Junior/Senior: $13.95
Soak City: $18.00
Parking $ 9.00
Meal ticket: $11.00
Tickets are available at the Union Hall, the Caddy Shack, and for your convenience we will be selling tickets in the cafeteria on Monday, July 21, 2008 on all three shifts

Free ice cream, pop, and beer from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. There will be a booth inside the pavilion at the front gate for raffle ticket sign up. We will have the pavilion from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. only. Dinner will start at 12:00 noon and end at 1:30 p.m. The raffle will be held promptly at 1:00 p.m. If you are not present at the time of the drawing, you can pick up your prize(s) at the Union Hall on Thursday, August 7, 2008. The Union Hall hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Executive Board-at-Large: Just a reminder, we will be having an election for one position for Executive Board-at-Large. The election will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 4:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight (20 continuous hours) at the Union Hall.

Temporary Employees: Temporary Employees are entitled to vote in our upcoming election for Executive Officers as per Article 38, Section 10(a) of the International Constitution which reads, “Every member in good standing shall be entitled to vote in all union elections.”

Standing Committees: We still have openings for Standing Committees. If you are interested in working on any of the committees, please submit your name, address and phone number and what committee or committees you are interested in at the Union Hall at 440-884-7979. The Committees that are available are the Union Label, Education, Recreation, CAP/Legislative, Civil Rights, Veterans’, Chaplaincy, and the Women’s Committees.

Part-Time Summer Help: Management has announced that they will be hiring another twenty four (24) part-time employees for summer help this Friday, July 18, 2008.

Union Bulletin Boards: It is your responsibility to check your Union Bulletin Boards for any new or updated information. We place these notices on the bulletin boards for your convenience and benefit. Thank you.
