Ten-O-Five #10 Newsletter

August 8, 2008:

During the past several weeks, the Local parties have been engaged in intense discussions regarding the future and longevity of GM Parma Complex and UAW Local 1005.

In an aggressive attempt to secure new work and put our plant into a more competitive position for the future, the Shop Committee and Local Management have established agreements in two specific areas:

Skilled Trades Partnership in accordance with Document 112 of the National Agreement, and Exiting of Non-Strategic Skilled Trades Work. Both items are dictated by the recent 2007/2008 negotiations, spurred by the deteriorating economy, skyrocketing fuel prices, and the announcement of production cuts of over 300,000 units.

Our Shop Committee, after thorough investigations and much discussion, took these necessary actions to secure our future in these critical times at the Parma Complex.

We will be holding informational meetings and ALL information will be provided.
