LEADER ASSESSMENTS: Orientation and assessments are being set up per the following Bulletin Board Notice:
During the second half of 2008, we are anticipating staffing additional leaders throughout the entire organization, including the technician classification and skilled trades positions. For those who are interested in applying for any of the Team Leader classification/positions, an assessment will begin the week of September 15, 2008. (NOTE - If you are interested in learning more about the Leader roles and responsibilities for skilled trades, an orientation class will be scheduled during the week of September 8th.) You must submit a Paragraph 63 (a) application to be scheduled. Any skilled trades Paragraph 63 (a) applications filed prior to 1/1/07 will be voided, as they were filed for the former skilled leader classifications and are not applicable for the current skilled team leader positions.

You must be a seniority employee to be eligible to apply for these openings. If you were previously assessed and deemed to be “qualified” for a Leader classification, but now are in a new classification, your previous “qualified assessment” is transferable for the new classification. The following describe the next events and requirements related to pursuing your interest in becoming a Leader.

Orientation Classes - Skilled Trades Only
If you did not previously attend an orientation class, you must fill out an orientation request form or make application to become a Leader in the Employment Office prior to the next orientation being conducted. These classes will be held on all three shifts. These classes last approximately one hour. During these classes, the process for selection and the leader training and responsibilities will be explained.

Leader Selection Assessment Sessions
Initial Assessment
If you have not been previously assessed, you will need to submit a 63 (a) application for the Leader classification/positions in the Employment Office no later than the Monday proceeding these assessments which are planned for the third week in September. This application will be the basis for scheduling Leader candidates for the next assessment.

Re-assessment
If you were previously unsuccessful in being assessed as a “qualified candidate” for the Leader position, but are still interested in being re-assessed you must fill out a request in the Employment Office indicating such interest. This request will be the basis for scheduling Leader candidates for the re-assessment.
